Find Your Fun, Find Your Y at Healthy Kids Day!
The Keene Family YMCA is hosting the Y’s annual Healthy Kids Day® on Saturday, April 29th from 1-5pm at their facility located at 200 Summit Road in Keene. This free, annual event features a variety of family-friendly activities to encourage healthy kids, healthy families and a healthy start to the summer season.
In celebration of this annual kick-off to summer, we are sharing a list of five activities that we encourage you to share with your kids. The goal is to have them try something new at the Y by promoting a variety of opportunities to get involved in active play – hopefully, this will inspire a lifetime love of physical and mental activity! Share these opportunities with your children and inspire them to “find their fun” by discovering an activity that they love!
Find Your Swimming Skills with YMCA Swim Lessons
Each year the Y teaches more than 800 children to swim. This helps them find their CONFIDENCE, teaches a lifelong skill and introduces them to lifelong fun. Click here to learn more about Y swim lessons.
Find Your Adventure with YMCA Summer Camp
Summer is a time for kids to explore new things and expand the limits of their imagination. At Keene Family YMCA, every day is a new adventure! Whether experiencing the wonder of the Y’s Adventure Camp or having a blast with new friends at Camp Wakonda, many children and teens find their ADVENTURE with the Y.
Find Your Passion with YMCA Sports
Youth sports are just the start of something bigger– besides teaching healthy living principles, they also teach the value of teamwork, help fuel determination and build character. At Keene Family YMCA we have several sports programs to help keep children active while igniting their PASSION for something greater. Click here to learn more about Y sports programs.
Find Your Voice with the Y’s Teen Programs
We believe young people have the power to change the world. The Monadnock Youth Coalition is a youth group founded from the Keene Family YMCA Community Coalition that represents the youth voice and helps prevent youth substance use. MYC hosts events, conducts focus group discussions, and lends a youth focus to the issues affecting our community. They also work towards educating their peers and the community about youth substance use. Click here to learn more about the Monadnock Youth Coalition.
Find Your Creativity with the Y’s Arts & Humanities Programs
The Keene Family YMCA has added a variety of arts and movement classes to their program lineup. Each class is age-appropriate and designed to provide a fun introduction to the arts. You’re sure to find something for everyone in your famliy to help you stay active and healthy throughout the year.
There are so many things to do and explore at the Y. Join us at Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, April 29th to learn more and experience a little bit of everything the Y has to offer.
