$2500 Hiring Incentive Offered for New Full-time Childcare Staff

If you have young children, or know someone who does, we probably don’t have to tell you that childcare services in our state, and in our country, are in dire straits. There is a serious shortage of childcare workers, and as a result, parents and caregivers are finding it increasingly difficult to find quality care for their children so they can work and put food on the table. Triple-digit waitlists and centers closing sporadically because they don’t have enough staff to maintain required ratios only amplifies the problem.

How do we solve this?
The Keene Family YMCA is working daily to expand our capacity so we can better serve our community by helping to fulfill the critical need for quality childcare services.

That is why we are implementing, effective immediately, a $2500 new-hire incentive for new, full-time childcare staff, and a $2500 referral incentive for any current employee who refers someone who is then hired on to our childcare team in a full-time capacity.*

Who is eligible to receive this incentive?
Great question! Here are the parameters around this incentive, and who qualifies:

  • Any new employee hired to work full-time in one of our childcare centers qualifies for the incentive.
  • Any current employee who refers someone who is hired to work full-time in one of our childcare centers also qualifies.
  • The management team, HR, and hiring managers at the Keene Family YMCA are not eligible to participate.
  • For the referring employee to receive the incentive, they and the referred employee must still be employed at the time the incentive is issued.
  • Referred individuals will still receive the incentive regardless of the referring employee’s employment status.
  • There is no limit to the number of referrals an employee can make or the number of incentives paid to an employee.
  • Only one current employee can make a referral for a new hire. In other words, two or more employees can’t refer the same person.
  • Human Resources will collect all Employee Referral Program forms, verify eligibility, and issue
    incentives.
