Keene Family YMCA Gymnastics
The Keene Family YMCA Gymnastics Program strives to provide quality instruction, individual attention, a safe environment and program growth. This is achieved by providing innovative coaching techniques, supportive parental involvement, and the integration of the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. We strive to reflect sportsmanship in our daily activities. Each child is given the opportunity to develop physically, emotionally, mentally and socially through fun, safe, and productive activities. We provide an open line of communication with gymnasts and parents.

- To guide each gymnast in developing his or her own immediate, short-term and long-term goals.
Gymnastics helps children become stronger, more flexible, and helps build endurance, agility, coordination, balance and speed. Gymnastics enables children to excel at many other sports and activities in life. Research has proven that strength training for children is highly beneficial and is one of the most important means available for long term health. Gymnastics encourages children to concentrate and be focused. Each child’s unique learning style and needs will be respected.
Ages 6 & Under
Designed to build basic gymnastics skills, as well as help with Kindergarten readiness. Children learn social skills, along with colors, shapes, pattern recognition, spatial awareness, balance, gross & fine motor skills, strength, coordination, and flexibility.
Ages 6 & Up
School age classes mark the beginning of progressive gymnastics for skill building and prep for participating in competitive gymnastics. Participants will build strength, flexibility, and coordination, while learning and further developing skills on apparatus.

Want to work on skills outside of structured class times, but still under the supervision of Y Gymnastics Staff? Do your little ones need some time to both socialize and work on their spatial and motor skills? Open Gymnastics is a great way to both work on select elements, and keep kids active, while in a fun and safe environment.

Royals Team & PreTeam
The stepping stone between School Age gymnastics and our competitive team. Gymnasts work on developing the Junior Olympic Compulsory Level 2 routines while building and developing skills towards Level 3. Practice is held twice weekly. PreTeam competes in two or three “fun” meets during the season.
PreTeam – Practice 5hrs per week

Royals Competitive Team
The Royals compete in the Eastern and Western YMCA Leagues (Beginning at JO Compulsory Level 3, and Xcel Silver), as well as the USA Gymnastics League(Begins at JO Compulsory Level 4, and Xcel Gold). Our team is comprised of JO Level 3-9 as well as Xcel Silver through Diamond. Practice is held three days per week.
Level 3/4/Xcel Silver – Practice 8hrs per week
Level 5-9/Xcel Gold/Platinum/Diamond – Practice 9hrs per week
