Childcare and Preschool Programs
The Keene Family YMCA is dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable childcare with family-centered, value-based programs to nurture your child’s healthy development. At the Y, we believe your child should have a safe, fun, caring and stimulating environment to come to everyday. Well trained staff provide expert care so you can have peace of mind while you go about your day.

At the Y our focus is on Youth Development, and we strive to nurture the potential of every child in our community. Our childcare program is licensed by the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services and holds an honorable Licensed Plus accreditation for quality.
Free membership for your child.
Every child enrolled in the Keene Family YMCA’s childcare program receives a free Youth Membership to the Y at no additional cost to you. This means you get member rates – up to 50% less than the non-member rates – for all of our programs including swim lessons, gymnastics, youth sports programs, and more. It also means you get priority registration, giving you the option to register for popular programs up to one full week before it opens up to non-members.

Childcare costs are listed with each program description below. Additionally, for all of our childcare programs, there is an annual registration fee. All YMCA childcare programs are supported by the Y’s Annual Campaign. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify.

The Children’s Learning Center at the YMCA
Our flagship program, the childcare center at the Keene Family YMCA provides high-quality care for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. In addition, our Y offers care for school-aged children. We provide care before and after school, on school holidays and vacations, and on snow days in the Keene school district.
Infant Care
Ages 6 weeks – 12 months
Your baby’s day is based on their own schedule. Teachers will provide tummy time, music, singing, sign language, stories, finger plays, and interactive floor play to foster budding socialization, self-discovery, and healthy development.
Full-Time | Monday-Friday – $302/week
Toddler 1
Ages 12-24 months
Through exploratory play and teacher-led activities, your child will begin to learn how to problem solve, assert their independence, and effectively communicate.
Full-Time | Monday-Friday – $268/week
Toddler 2
Ages 2-3 years
Your child will explore and discover while developing verbal, social, emotional and intellectual skills. Hands-on activities will capture their imagination and provide lots of opportunities for interactive play.

Toddler 3
Ages 18 months – 3 years
Your child will explore and discover while developing verbal, social, emotional and intellectual skills. Hands-on activities will capture their imagination and provide lots of opportunities for interactive play.

Preschool 1
Ages 3-4 years
This class incorporates a play-based curriculum that includes math, science, reading, writing, music, and art. Your child will enjoy activities such as outdoor play, circle time, creative crafts, cooking, and both structured and unstructured physical activities. This class also includes time in the pool and the gymnastics center at no additional cost.
Full-time | Monday-Friday – $231/week
Preschool 2
Ages 4-5
This class incorporates a play-based curriculum that includes math, science, reading, writing, music, and art. Your child will enjoy activities such as outdoor play, circle time, creative crafts, cooking, and both structured and unstructured physical activities. This class also includes time in the pool and the gymnastics center at no additional cost.
Full-time | Monday-Friday – $226/week
YMCA Preschool at Jonathan Daniels
The YMCA Preschool at JD serves families of children between the ages of 2.9-5 years. Students receive the same high-quality childcare that you’d expect from the Y, and all the perks that go along with it. Including a free youth membership for your enrolled child(ren).
At JD your child will enjoy circle time and outdoor play and engage in a play-based curriculum that includes the arts, sciences, math and reading.
