The Y is your partner in health and wellness. We are not just here to provide you with a place to come and workout. We are here to help you succeed in meeting your goals and your needs. It starts with your member orientation, but it doesn’t stop there. We make an effort to follow the success of our members, share in your milestones, allow opportunities for you to air concerns or ask questions and when you aren’t here we notice. These are things that set us apart and make the Y a special place on your wellness journey.
New Member Orientation
Get to know your Y and all the benefits that come with your new Y membership. These short sessions are based entirely on the questions and interests of those attending. A session might include a facility tour, learning about the features on our website, how best to obtain information, what types of programs and classes we offer, how and when to sign up for programs, which group exercise classes require reservations and how to sign up and anything else that you would like to know about your Y. It isn’t a lecture and there isn’t a set agenda, but more of a conversation. Come get to know us. We would love to meet you.
Work smarter, not harder! Let us walk you through how to use the machines in our Wellness Center during a 1 hour session with one of our fitness staff members. To sign up for this FREE orientation please see a Welcome Center Representative to make an appointment. Appointments must be made a minimum of 24 hours in advance.
Serving families is at the heart of what we do at the Y. By providing affordable activities and events for the whole family, we make spending quality time with your loved ones just a little bit easier in this busy world. Look for special monthly events and programs on the Y’s website.
ChildWatch is the Y’s free babysitting service for our Family Members. Adult members may purchase a punch card to utilize ChildWatch- 10 visits for $30. To take advantage of the ChildWatch service you need to pick up a ChildWatch pass at the Y Welcome Center where we will verify your membership status. Simply present the pass at the ChildWatch room and you may utilize the service for up t0 2 hours in a single visit. Children must be between the ages of 4 months and 10 years.

Staff will begin to open the building a minimum of 15 minutes prior to facility hours, however, non staff will not be admitted until open time. The pool will close 15 minutes prior to the facility closing to allow for locker room time. A 15 minute notice will be given prior to closing. All members are expected to vacate the building at or before the closing hour.
The Y is OPEN 8am to Noon on New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day and Thanksgiving. The Y is OPEN 5am to 2pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. The Y is CLOSED on Christmas Day.
The Y has developed the following inclement weather policies out of concern for the safety of our members, program participants and staff. For weather related closings or cancellations refer to keene-ymca.org or NH TV’s WMUR.
- Building Closings: The Y will make every attempt to open or remain open in inclement weather. However, the Y does reserve the right to delay opening, close early or remain closed if the weather is deemed to be of a nature that our staff and members would be put at risk if we remained open. There is no reduction in membership fees for building closures.
- Pool Closings: In the event of lightning the Aquatic Center will close for 1/2 hour after the last instance of thunder or lightning.
- Program Make-up: If a paid program is cancelled because of a Y closure the class will be offered at a make-up day and time (that may or may not be at on the same day or time). If a make up class cannot be held then a credit will be issued for the class missed. Credits will not be issued for those choosing not to attend a make up class.
Accidents and Injuries
In the event of an accident or injury a Y staff member should be notified immediately. A Y staff will document the incident by filling out an accident report. Please note that you are participating in activities at your own risk and are responsible for yourself, your children and your guests.
