Keene Family YMCA ASE Program & YES Program

Keene Family YMCA CEO Dan Smith released an update on Sept. 4, 2020, outlining the Y’s launch of the ASE Program, a new school-age childcare program built in response to needs created by local hybrid school models that have stemmed from the COVID-19 pandemic.

ASE PROGRAM:
Academic Support & Enrichment Program for School-Age Youth K-5

The ASE Program is designed to support working families with students participating in the hybrid model. When enrolled in the ASE Program your child will receive support with their remote learning assignments as well as enrichment programming throughout the day. Other activities include sports/group games, creative arts and social emotional learning. The opening of a classroom is contingent on enrollment and adequate staffing.
Flat Tuition Rate:
$185/child/full week
$125/child/3 full days

NEW! Y.E.S. Program at the Y:

Youth Enrichment and Support Program for Grades 6-8

The YES Program is a free program focused on our area middle school students, especially those students deemed vulnerable and at-risk. The program will take place at the Keene Family YMCA and potentially at partner sites within the towns of Keene and Swanzey. YES Program students will participate in two weekly 90-minute activities focused on:
• Asset Building • Academic Support • Leadership • Active Play
• Mental & Emotional Health Check-ins • Substance Use Prevention Skill Building

Participants will also receive a one-year membership to the Keene Family YMCA, giving them access to a broad range of healthy activities.

The YMCA recognizes how crucial the early months of life are for creating a base for later learning. Our infant program is designed to meet the needs of each baby in a nurturing, healthy, loving environment. Your baby’s day is based on his or her own schedule. Our qualified teachers will provide tummy time, music, singing, sign language, stories, finger plays, and interactive floor play to foster budding socialization, self concept, and developmental skills.

YMCA Preschool at Jonathan Daniels

The YMCA Preschool at Jonathan Daniels works as a stand-alone option or with the Keene Community Preschool Program. Students at our off-site facilities receive the quality child care that you expect from the YMCA and we are state-licensed. All children receive a YMCA Youth Membership.

In the program, the children will experience circle time, outside play, learning centers that include the arts, sciences, math, literacy and lots of social emotional support to grow and learn. The Y will provide morning and afternoon snack during before/after care programs.

Preschool summer camp is offered during the summer months.

SCHOOL-AGE CHILD CARE

School’s Out Program

School’s Out at the Keene Family YMCA is designed to accommodate the needs of working families, by providing school age child care to the Keene community. Activities during School’s Out may include: science projects, building projects, crafts, swimming, outdoor play, gym games, academic enrichment, and healthy lifestyles education. Your child should wear sneakers and bring a nut-free lunch and snacks, a swimsuit, towel and appropriate outdoor clothing. Toys, electronics and personal items are not allowed at School’s Out. School’s Out is held at the YMCA’s main facility in the Children’s Learning Center unless otherwise noted.

Vacation/Holiday Camp

Those interested in vacation camp, school holiday camp, and camp for teachers’ workshop days should download an application and select the days that you desire camp. This form should be mailed or dropped off, 200 Summit Road, Keene NH 03431. You will receive a confirmation. Space is limited. For more information on this program please contact Ashley Engelbrecht.

Snow Days

The YMCA offers Snow Day coverage for days when school is closed due to snow. Please download the Snow Day form and bring it in filled out completely, along with payment. Please do not call the Y’s main phone number as reservations will not be taken through the Y Welcome Center. We operate this program on a first come-first serve basis. You can call the Multi-Purpose Room (283-5248) and ask if there are still spots available before arriving. One form per child. For more information on this program please contact Ashley Engelbrecht.
