Thank you to everyone who helped make our 2017 Annual Sneaker Ball & Auction so successful! We raised close to $45,000 which combined with staff, board, members and other donors who have contributed to our Annual Campaign, brought us to $104,457, or 52% of our $200,000 fundraising goal.
In addition to the 80s theme fun: outrageous outfits, hair and makeup, & dance moves, we had serious moments too. Aquatics Director, Paul Simpson, shared sobering drowning statistics and emphasized the importance of giving kids and adults in our community the opportunity to develop life-saving skills through swimming lessons at the Y.
Paul then recognized Keene Family YMCA lifeguards Emma Ledwith & Kevin Moss with an American Red Cross Certificate of Recognition for Extraordinary Personal Action for the roles they played in saving the life of a Y member who had a medical emergency while swimming laps two years ago.
