Information Session for New Senior Program

There will be an information session about the Y’s newest program for seniors, Moving for Better Balance®, Friday, February 12th, 10:45am at Bentley Commons. Anyone interested in learning more about the program or looking to sign up on site is welcome to attend.

The Keene Family YMCA has partnered with Bentley Commons to bring Moving for Better Balance®, a fall prevention program for seniors, to the Keene community. Falls are NOT a normal part of  aging, and you CAN reduce your risk of a fall!  Tai Ji Quan: Moving for Better Balance® is a research based exercise program designed to help older adults and individuals with balance disorders reduce their risk of a fall. You can take steps now to reduce your risk of a fall and maintain an active and independent lifestyle!

The 12 week program, which begins Feb 17th, will be conducted by certified Y staff at the Bentley Commons assisted living community on Water Street in Keene. Participants will meet Wednesday and Friday from 10:45-11:45am. The cost of the program is $125 for the general public; $75 for Y members and Bentley Commons residents.
