Gymnastics Team Success at League Championships

This past weekend the Keene Family YMCA Gymnastics Team competed in the Eastern Massachusetts League Championships at the Metro North YMCA in Saugus MA.

In level 4 Sarah Feld competed in the 11 year old age group, while Meredith Lewis was the floor and all-around Champion in the 12+ age group. Feld received an 8.4 on vault, 8.45 on uneven bars placing third, 8.7 on beam placing fifth, 9.1 on floor placing third and 34.65 all-around placing fifth. Lewis had a strong showing with a 9.2 on floor and 36.0 all-around making her the new League Champion in both. She also received a 9.3 on vault placing second, 8.6 on uneven bars placing third and 8.9 on beam placing second.

In Xcel Gold Karli Stroshine completed in the 14+ age group and received an 8.7 on vault placing fifth, 8.4 on uneven bars, 8.9 on beam placing 4th, 9.4 on floor placing third and 35.4 all-around placing fourth.

In level 3 Claire Gemma was the uneven bar Champion in the 9 year old age group, while Carter Liebl completed in the 11 year old age group. Gemma received a 9.15 on uneven bars making her the new League Champion. She also received a 9.55 on vault placing second, 8.9 on beam placing fifth, 9.2 on floor placing third and 36.8 all-around placing second. Liebl received a 9.0 on vault placing, 7.9 on uneven bars placing tenth, 8.3 on beam placing tenth, 7.6 on floor and 32.8 all-around.

The girls will compete in the New Hampshire/Massachusetts State Championship on April 15th and 16th. They will also be hosting their first ever home meet in the new Gymnastics Center on Sunday, May 3rd.
