Thank you to everyone who supported the Y by attending the Sneaker Ball and participating in the auction. What a fun way to kick off Spring and our Annual Campaign. Now if the weather would just cooperate!
A special thank you to John Round, for his excellent auctioneering skills! And to Ted McGreer for taking the Sneaker Contest to a new level AND donating $100 gift certificates to all three winners! Thank you!
In 2013, through support from the Monadnock United Way, and contributions to our Annual Campaign, we were able to provide assistance to 1,638 people in our community.
Our goal for 2014, is to bring the gift of the Y to 1,721 people, who without financial assistance would not be able to participate in programs, childcare or membership at the Y.
To help 1,721 kids, teens, adults and family members take swim lessons, participate in a yoga class, enroll in afterschool care or summer camp, walk around the track, play basketball, or simply feel connected, with a sense of belonging, we rely on donations to our Annual Campaign.
Earlier this year we quietly kicked off the Annual Campaign to Y Senior Staff, Y Board Members, and some Chairmen Round Table level ($1000+) donors. Through these direct contributions, we raised $24,643 toward our $105,000 Annual Campaign goal.
The success of our Sneaker Ball and Auction propelled us even closer to our goal. Net proceeds from the event were $30,150 which brings our grand total to $54,793, or 52% of our goal! Thank you SO much for the role you played in helping us achieve this.
Now that we have revealed the details of “Project 1721”, we are prepared to launch the public portion of our Annual Campaign to raise the final $50,207. If you are interested in volunteering for the campaign, or know someone who might want to participate, please let me know!
Preliminary feedback from the Sneaker Ball has been very positive! Planning is already underway for next year’s event. Mark your calendar for Saturday, March 21, 2015 for the 4th Annual Sneaker Ball. If you have anything you’d like to share, including suggestions to make next year’s event even better, please do not hesitate to contact me or another Y staff member. Thanks again and Happy Spring!
