Winter Walk Around Goose Pond

Join the Keene Family YMCA Outing Club for a winter walk around Goose Pond in Keene on Saturday, February 15th. The walk around Goose Pond is a lovely 2.1 mile round trip on mostly level terrain. Trails tend to be well traveled even in winter, so minimal specialized gear is required to enjoy this  hike, and most will be fine with just warm sturdy boots. However, we recommend that you bring micro-spikes, snow shoes, or trekking poles if you have them as trail conditions can range from deep powder after a fresh snow to ice after some rain or a warm day followed by freezing temperatures. Please also wear appropriate clothing and bring adequate water and snacks with you.

Those interested should meet at the YMCA with plans to carpool to Goose Pond, departing from the Y at 10:30am sharp. Carpools are encouraged, as Goose Pond has limited parking.

This event is free and open to both YMCA members and non-members. RSVP is not required, but is appreciated. For more information or to RSVP to this event, please contact Kari Post, Climbing Coordinator, at 603-283-5252, kpost@keene-ymca.org.Goose Pond Hike
